A platform for substantive expertise

The CLN Contributor Network gives approved professionals and organizations a place to publish practical, useful analysis for Canadian Legal News readers. Contributors may include lawyers, accountants, academics, consultants, legal-technology companies, mediators, recruiters, forensic professionals and other businesses serving the legal and business communities.

Participation is application-based. Creating a contributor account is free. Current sponsorship options, pricing and the online application are available after you sign in to your contributor account.

Build a body of work

Publish substantive articles under your name and organization and develop a searchable collection of useful commentary on CLN.

Reach a focused audience

Write for readers following Canadian court decisions, regulation, legal practice and business developments.

Clear attribution

Sponsored contributor articles identify the contributor and are clearly distinguished from independent CLN newsroom reporting.

How it works

  1. Create a free account. Tell us who you are and how to contact you.
  2. Review private pricing and apply. Choose the current sponsorship option that fits your publishing goals and tell us about your background and proposed topics.
  3. CLN reviews the application. Acceptance is based on audience relevance, professional background and the ability to contribute substantive material.
  4. Publish as an active contributor. Approved sponsored articles remain subject to CLN editorial standards and clear sponsorship disclosure.

Editorial independence comes first

Contributor sponsorship does not buy favourable news coverage, the ability to suppress reporting, editorial influence over CLN's newsroom, or an endorsement by Canadian Legal News. Sponsored contributor articles are commercial content and are identified as Sponsored Contributor Content.

Participation in the Contributor Network is not a certification, professional designation, ranking, award or representation that CLN has independently determined that a participant is a specialist or is superior to another professional.

Publication is tied to active membership

Sponsored contributor articles are made available through the program while the applicable contributor membership remains active. If a membership is paused, cancelled or otherwise becomes inactive, those sponsored articles will be taken offline. Contributor rights and CLN's publication licence are governed by the Contributor Network Terms.
